More of the same....

I made the chains leading to the clovers on the maple leaves only 8 ds instead of 10 which seems to work out nicely. I also decided to tat a smaller maple in size 70, the vintage thread from Argentina that I posted about months ago.

I tatted most of a seahorse yesterday too but my idea of turning it into the loch ness monstor disapated because the head (Jane's pattern) did not make me think of the loch ness monstor. Hmmm....maybe if I borrow the hippo head???

The more I tat of these motifs to dye, the more ideas I come up with. I can't believe I've tatted so many of each motif. I usually don't like to keep tatting the same thing over and over, especially in white or ecru! Talk about BORING! But I keep envisioning them in full technicolor and I guess that is what inspires me to keep at it. After this playdate, I think the next one will be more defined. I might tat a whole scene and then dye it accordingly. Oh my....delusions of grandeur!

A driver ran a red light and T-boned my son late this afternoon. No one hurt fortunately. He's using MY car for his date tonight.

  1. Thank God that your son was not hurt!
    Every mother's nightmare.

  2. I'm so glad your son is OK!

You shortened the chains at the points of the maple leaves, didn't you? I think it looks better that way; those overlapping chains have always bothered me.

I think that Deb's seahorse (which is what Anne's seahorse dragon is based on) looks more like Nessie than Jane's seahorse. It's really a matter of making the body go back more, rather than down, and adding flippers.

  3. You know, I kinda like the leaves tatted in ecru. I don't know why. Glad to hear that no one was hurt in that fender bender.

  4. Oh thank goodness no one was hurt!

  5. So glad your son wasn't hurt. Hope his date went OK. Hmmm, decisions, decisions over heads!!! I'd like a new head for myself as my hair needs cutting and I hate going to the hairdresser - perhaps you could tat me a new one - with shorter hair?

  6. Magnificent these sheets(leaves) in tatting!
I it is the similar when I leave the car to my son, I am always afraid of the accident, the good courage
    bye corinne

  7. Never thought of tatting leaves in ecru, but nevertheless, your tatted leaves are lovely, and one of my favourite thing to tat!

Glad your boy isn't hurt, that's the best news :)

  8. Oops! I think I hit the enter key too soon! Please feel free to delete one of my comments if two came through!

I love the leaves! I'm tempted to try them, but I've been suffering from tatting dyslexia or amnesia or some other tatting-related illness lately... I can't follow a pattern for anything! It must be time for another Spinning Wheel glass mat!

I'm glad your son wasn't hurt in the accident. From the picture, it looks like he was very lucky.

I love the new profile pic!

  9. So glad your son is okay. Nice leaves.

  10. Glad to hear your son it OK!!

Can`t wait to see what the leaves look like after you get them dyed!!

  11. YIKES! Glad your son is all right!

  12. as everyone else said, glad your son is ok.

The tatting of the leaves looks great and I imagine them in luscious greens and golds.

  13. How lucky there were no injuries! Love your leaves!
