I've had the sewing bug for ages and finally took some time last night to sew this little pouch. It has 4 shuttles in it at the moment. I think the purple thread does not match so I think I'll take the flower off and try another color. I also haven't put a cord on it yet. Can't quite make up my mind how I want to do that.

Liz Anderson sent me the link to this Sock Monkey Hat on Knitty! Of course I'm going to have to try it!

I got a lot done yesterday, cleaning and sorting - finding things to put in my sister's garage sale near the end of April. I still have a lot to do but I'm making progress. I'm also just about ready to send Jolande's package out. She should get it before I draw another winner. LOL!

I should also spend some time today making sure I have everything ready for Hector. I've got the pattern and my samples but that's about it since I've been so busy cleaning. I really want to make another sample for some reason.....maybe because they are fun to do?

  1. I love the little pouch and the sock monkey hat is a must do! It is adorable! Of course, my daughter probably wouldn't let Isaac wear it. They would probably think it was "boy" enough. I disagree, but I'm not the boss!

  2. What a cute little pouch! I think I have some of that fabric in my stash. Maybe it's time to start making some tatting travel packs!

  3. Hi I just found your blog through Anna's (sew good sew far)blog. What cought my eye is that you tat. I have been wanting to learn to tat for so long. I wish you lived next door so you could show me. I bought 2 digital instructions on tating from ebay but the instructions don't seem very good to me. I am trying to figure out by the picture how to hold the thread and shuttle in my hand. I bought a box of misc. sewing stuff at a second hand store for $5 and noticed there was a tatting shuttle and thread. I was so excited, but now have put it on the back burner since I can't seem to figure it out. Do you have any words of wisdom for me? :-)

  4. I just changed the flower on the pouch and I'm making the cord for it now. It's been a nice change of pace.

Lisa, I'm emailing you separately with lots of links and places for help.

  5. I love your pouch! Great minds must think alike, because I've been working on a little case to carry hooks and scissors to a lace workshop. I like your tatted closure, and borrowed your idea. Hope you don't mind. Mine isn't big enough for shuttles, but I have enough fabric left over I could come up with something.
