I've been busy elsewhere and haven't been tatting until late last night, to empty a shuttle and unwind a bit. This is a pendant from Lyn Morton's Tatted Jewelry. I didn't put beads on it and it turned out I didn't even tat it in the right order but it all worked out. Most of the jewelry in the book looks very similar but I suspect it's the individual's tatting of it that produces the variations. Thread color, beads, what is used where. It was easy to make.

I ordered some free floss from Threads of Rosace which I saw posted on Suztats' blog last week. It arrived on Monday, very fast. I'll probably embroider with it but I could tat too. The free offer is still in effect as of today. They are promoting a new line of embroidery floss. It feels very soft and smooth but I won't know how it acts until I try it.

Just a minor diversion.....playing with the thread at Pixlr.com.

  1. Love the colour in the little motif... so happy and springlike!

I have great trouble tatting with embroidery thread (using two or three strands) so I am curious to see what you do with this... The colours are lovely.

  3. Hey Gina, I got my thread, too, but it seems as though one doesn't get a choice regarding the colours.......I chose three greens and received a red, green and yellow....it looks as though you received the same too. Mind you, I'm not complaining, because it's so nice to receive something free, and nice to try out a new embroidery thread before purchasing. I think it's lovely and soft, and I'm looking forward to testing it out and seeing how strong it is. Hugs, and thanks for the link.

  5. Suz, I did get the colors I ordered (it's actually a peach, green and ivory but that might depend on your monitor's resolution. I do seem to remember that the place to check which color you wanted was not where you first expected. The order confirmed the colors I picked and I also got an email listing the colors.

  6. Hey Gina, thanks for your response. I must have done it wrong, then, because my confirmation was for 3 threads but no colours were listed. Don't I feel silly, now. teehee. Oh, well. Free is free. It'll be used regardless of the colour.

Have a great day! hugs from Suz
