Tatting Tea Tuesday 1/5/10

As long as it is hot, wet and goes down the right way, its fine with me. ~ Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, on tea

I don't know if that is truly a quote by Sarah Ferguson or a poke at her, but it was with a bunch of other tea quotes - with her name and "Dutchess" misspelled.

If you haven't heard yet, Jane started a new TIAS (Tat It and See) today! You can find the link to the first pattern here or here!

I'm working on this project myself:

I wanted to show my lace guild the matching necklace and I'm considering putting it in the fair or our fall exhibit at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation building. It's turning out so pretty. I believe I'm going to scotchguard the necklace when it is done. The patterns are from http://free-tatting.com/.

I have to confess that I drink tea everyday, iced tea, so it's a given that on Tatting Tea Tuesday I'll be drinking tea.

News Flash! My youngest son and his wife just found out they are having a GIRL! Ooooohhh....that means I get to tat girl things! This will be my 6th grandchild.

I love the earrings and the necklace. Congrats on your news about the granddaughter. I have a little girl (age 11) and I just love doing stuff with her. She's a blast.

  3. Congratulations on the girlie girl! You're going to have fun tatting sweet things for her.

The necklace is STUNNING! Love those beads - they look like they have just a touch of green in them. It will be a beautiful set!

  4. Congrat's on the new grandbaby!!!!

I really think you should put the earring and necklace set in the fair. It is sure to win. I really like the earring pattern but am having trouble finding it. Could you let me know how to find it again!?!?!

I'm going to try Janes' TIAS a little later this evening. To much housework to do. :(

  6. Sweet!! You get to tat girly things! Congrats! The necklace is looking very impressive - worthy of entering for sure. The scotchguard is a great idea - one I never would've thought of. LOL! Thanks for sharing the idea.

Keeps up posted on how the entry goes 'k?

Congrats on your girl grand-baby to come! The call of the pink will have you in its thrall soon!

Thanks for joining in the TTT fun. I enjoy reading your posts and can't wait to see what you will be working on next!

(And it matters not if your tea is hot, iced, laced with liquor or has party umbrellas sticking out of it. It's all good!)

Tee hee, my word verification is "whories" as in, "No whories!" ☺

  8. Thanks everyone!
Ann - good eye! They look like this rich creamy beige in the tube but as I strung them, I'd see a reflection of green, just a tiny bit, in them

Kelly, I'll edit & put the link in the post. And here:

You have to remember to put the dash between the 2 words if you google or it won't come up.

  9. Ooo, a girl! Congratulations! I'm still trying to figure out how to tat 'boy' things! Animals, I guess, when they're a little older.

Your earrings and necklace look very elegant, like you'd wear them to something formal. You definately should enter them. And the Scotch guard is a great idea!

  11. Congratulations! I have mixed feelings about finding out the sex of the baby ahead of time. The only one I knew ahead of time was my grandson, and I remember thinking... what do I do with a boy? I have four daughters! Luckily, he and I get along just fine! But, girls! Oh, they are so much fun for me!

    Love the necklace!

  12. The necklace set is stunning! Thanks for sharing the pattern link. I'm a new tatter... have done many seed beaded necklaces in the past, looking forward to doing tatted necklaces, and perhaps incorporating beads. This is a beautiful pattern.
